Lycoming County Visitors Bureau
Purpose:
The mission of the Lycoming County Visitors
Bureau is to promote and increase tourism to
Lycoming County and surrounding areas.

New…Develop a comprehensive sports marketing program to sell our new and
existing sports venues to recreation sports
events industry.
New…Explore the creation of a new train excursion during the Little League
World Series the Friday of championship weekend.
New…Create a county-wide partnership for marketing purposes of all
visitor-ready historical attractions in Lycoming
County to include assets such as Millionaires’
Row National Historic District and the Muncy
Historic District.
New…Work with and dedicate financial resources where necessary to regional
and state-wide cultural and heritage tourism
initiatives including the Underground Railroad,
Pennsylvania Wilds Artisans and Route 15 By-way
of the Arts programs.
New…Provide the necessary assistance to the Jersey Shore Borough and the
communities in the Pine Creek Valley as they
source the opportunities available to them as
potential trail towns.
New…Grow the partnership developed in 2007 with the Bald Eagle Art League and
maintain our joint participation in the First
Fridays’ activities.
…Continue the work started in 2007 on the website.
…Maintain the Grand Slam Parade as an annual self-sustaining
event through providing volunteer leadership,
coordination and staffing.
…Create a tear-away map for our member businesses and
tourists.
…Establish programs that support tourism as a
significant and growing industry in our county
and region through development of niche
brochures and providing Familiarization (FAM)
tours for tour operators, writers, VIC staff and
local tourism industry representatives.
…Coordinate and maintain a master tourism events calendar for
Lycoming County.
…Create cooperative marketing initiatives between members for
the purposes of tourism projects such as
development of leisure and group tour packages
and co-op advertising.
…Continue to expand the commitment of the Visitors Bureau
through working subcommittees that include the
following: Advertising and Grand Slam Parade.
…Develop a marketing program with an annual budget of
$180,000.
…Continue to actively participate in the following regional
partnerships: Pennsylvania Wilds, Valleys of
the Susquehanna, Lumber Heritage Region and
Keystone Mountain Country for the purposes of
securing funding for multi-county marketing
programs.
…Assist with the development of proposed area attractions.
…Continue to build upon the good working relationship with
the Pennsylvania Tourism Office in Harrisburg. |
