SEPTEMBER

 

Fall Foliage Balloon Festival: September 14th - 16th, 2007

 

Enjoy a weekend of hot air balloons, rides, crafts and much more at the Fall Foliage Balloon Festival. The tree-day event has something for everyone. Enjoy the wonderful fall foliage at the Balloon Festival located at the Williamsport Regional Airport, located in Montoursville, PA.  

 

 

OCTOBER

 

Fall Foliage Train Excursions: October 7, 14, 21, 2007

 

All aboard the Lycoming County Visitors Bureau’s Fall Foliage Train excursion! Bring your family and enjoy the beautiful fall colors found in our community during this fun and exciting train ride. Each ride lasts approximately 1 ½ hours. The train will travel from Williamsport to Muncy or Jersey Shore and return to Williamsport. The train is pulled by a diesel engine with three refurbished passenger cars and a caboose. Times are 11AM, 2PM, and 5PM each day with ticket prices at $13.00 per person. Children 2 and under are free of charge. Muncy excursions are 11AM and 5PM. The Jersey Shore excursion is 2PM. Mummer’s Parade: Date TBA

 

Do you love a good parade? If so, don’t miss our Annual Mummer’s Parade in South Williamsport. This is a great parade to see local high school marching bands, fire engines, dance groups, and floats. There will be food vendors and lots of candy for the kids; so bring a bag and make your plans early. Call (570) 433-3892 for more information.

 


8th Annual Flashlight Safari: October 19th - 21st, 2007

 

This Halloween take a break from ghosts and goblins. Go on a Flashlight Safari! Clyde Peeling’s Reptiland will be open from 6 – 9 PM, October 19th - 21st for you to explore the nocturnal world of reptiles and amphibians. Visit our carved pumpkin patch, see the world’s largest species of bat, and then if you dare, see the eyes of alligators reflect in the beam of your flashlight. Learn about their behavior at night and get up close and personal with several creatures of the night. If you have any questions, call (570) 538-1869.

Victorian Christmas: November 17, 2007

17th Annual Toy Train Expo: November 17 & 18, 2007

 

Come visit the Thomas T. Taber Museum of the Lycoming County Historical Society and see the local train enthusiasts showcase their working train layouts. This event will display very small to very large trains and everything in between. Also, while you are in the Museum, see the permanent Shempp Train display in the basement.
