Thomas T. Taber Museum of the Lycoming County Historical Society

 

 

 

 

Visit the Thomas T. Taber Museum of the LycomingCounty Historical Society. Explore the rich and exciting history of north central Pennsylvania You will discover the major events of the region’s history from Native American while learning about everyday life. Your exploration will take you through over 35 exhibits on the museum’s two levels!

Museum Hours:
Open Year Round
Tuesday- Friday 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Saturday- 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Sunday 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

(May 1- Oct 1)
Closed Mondays and Holidays

Exhibits include:

Ø An American Indian Gallery

Ø The History of the Lumber Industry in Lycoming County

Ø Period Rooms - Frontier Room, One Room School House, 19th Century General Store, Victorian Parlor, Greek Revival Room, Blacksmith Shop,

Ø and Grist Mill
 

LaRue Shempp Model Train Exhibit
One of the finest toy train collections

in the United States!
The LaRue Shempp Model Train

exhibit contains over 300 toy trains

and two working layouts, and over

100 "one-of-a-kind” engines!
